Going live!

Greetings all,

If you're reading this, it means that we've switched from our previous
hosting site to our present location with Squarespace.com.

I've got the basic site and our various pages up and running, but please
know that I'll be modifying and adding pics and other elements over the
next week or so. But if you are a member of WCR and you see some
problems, in either content or structure, please let me know.

And remember, you are free to leave a comment, right here in this space!
Just keep in mind that it is visible to the whole wide world! :-)

Kevin

We invite all high school students, ages 14 – 18, from our region to participate in the 8th Annual New England Youth Whaleboat Challenge and compete for the coveted New Bedford Cup on Saturday, May 8th! Participants get to experience the thrill of rowing a whaleboat and the importance of teamwork. No previous rowing experience is necessary, as all training will be provided. It is recommended that you get your registration form in as early as possible in order to secure training times that work for your entire crew. Click the link on this page for more information.

Save the Date….
Independence Day Whaleboat Races
Saturday, July 3rd
Planning will soon begin and the success of the Independence Day Whaleboat Race is dependent upon our volunteers. This year your help is needed in order to continue this tradition. We are looking for several volunteers to join the planning committee to assist with logistics. We are also in need of volunteers for the day of the event to assist with registration, time keeping, coordinating the boats/races, and manning the refreshment stand. Please contact Danielle Riggs, Louie Doherty, or Bethany Sylvia (bsylvia@whalingcityrowing.org) if you’re interested in being part of the planning and/or event team!

I'm looking forward to all of the responses to our Youth Whaleboat Challenge Invitation! This year promises to be another great event. I'm sure I'll be seeing you during April for practice and then Race Day! Contact me as soon as you have your team together so we can get you on the practice schedule. If you have any questions or problems, feel free to contact me.
