<p>To the crews.&nbsp; Amazing job!&nbsp; You should all be proud.<br />To the Captains.&nbsp; For the time you put into your students.<br />To the Parents.&nbsp; For cheering on your son or daughter, and for the leg work getting them to the marina every week for practice.<br />To the Volunteers.&nbsp; Who have worked since February to make this event possible once again.<br />To the folks at Popes Island Marina.&nbsp; Who go out of their way to help us put on this event.</p>
<p>I hope to see you all this summer for our Summer program and hope you all row with your teams for the Independence Day Whaleboat Race to be held July 3, 2010 in New Bedford Harbor.</p>

<p>Come on over to Popes Island Marina for race day and cheer on our city's youth as they battle for the New Bedford Cup.&nbsp; The three races scheduled, Circumnavigation of Crow's Island, the Figure Eight and the Harpoon Toss are sure to put all the crews to the test for endurance and skill.</p>
<p>All are welcome to cheer on the crews.&nbsp; Registration begins at 9:00 with races sure to be underway by 10:00.</p>

<p>New WCR gear was on display and available for purchase. Those in attendance enjoyed catching up with team members and their families, and with other WCR members throughout our organization.</p>

The Gray Buzzards-Team One came in first (photo at left) and the Cachalots, also from Whaling City Rowing, came in just behind the the Buzzards (photo below).</p>
<p>This was also the first time that&nbsp;Whaling City Rowing had all three of it's whaleboats present at the Snow Row. The&nbsp;weather could not have been better....almost 50 degrees and no wind!</p>
